She has dark red hair that falls in a messy heap to just below her shoulder blades. Knots are always found in her hair - partially because of its thickness, partially because of how rarely she brushes it. Her eyebrows and a bit on the bushy side, and both her eyebrows and eyelashes are a shade of a transparent blond, almost a pale red. Her skin is rather pale and dotted in hundreds of freckles, thanks to her Irish blood. Her eyes are a shade of bright green near the pupil, fading to a darker shade of green, nearly black, at the edges. The contrast is beautiful when enhanced with brown mascara (thanks to their natural color, black looks very strange), but as she couldn't care less about her appearance most of the time, it rarely happens. Thanks to years of running, her legs are muscular, but covered in a layer of fat, due to her stage of depression, that she hasn't burned off. [see history]

Her usual attire consists of solid-color T-shirts, a light jacket in winter (she loves the cold), tennis shoes and blue jeans or some her oh-so fashionable sweats. She personally loves her sweats, as they're what she always runs in, but most of her more fashion-conscious friends despise them with a passion. She has yet to ever wear any jewelry save for a fake diamond necklace her mother left her in her will. It's made of a cheap material painted to look silver that winds around itself for the necklace itself and ends in two intertwined circles, made to look like it was made of diamonds. Despite that, it looks convincing enough to be real, unless one was to look at it too closely. She wears it all the time, but it usually remains hidden beneath her jacket for safe-keeping; she wears it for emotional reasons, not to show it off to the world.

With other people, Alaina is reserved, shy and very self-conscious. She says only what she needs to; she rarely risks making a good impression for fear of making a bad one. With animals and Pokemon, though, she is completely different. Something about them pulls her to them. She enjoys spending time with them, which was the main reason she pushed for traveling to the Evine Region in the first place, despite it being out in the middle of nowhere.
